BREAKING NEWS

We were born on June 23, 2010 in Newport Beach, California

Reese was born at 1:57 PM and weighed 4 pounds 7 ounces and measured 16.5 inches.

Will was born at 1:58 PM and weighed 4 pounds 9 ounces and measured 18 inches.

We were born at 32 weeks and 1 day and are doing well given our quick entrance into this world.

Mom and Dad are doing fine. Mom had us via C-Section and Dad did not pass out but did cry quite a bit (actually A LOT).

Thank you for your love and prayers.

God is good. All the time.

Today

Thank you for all your prayers. Thoughts are nice, but a direct line to God is always better. Why just think when you can talk to God? I know we are new but that just makes sense to us. You see, we have been talking to God quite a bit lately. We have had good days and bad days but what we have found is that we always have today.

God gives us today and makes no guarantees about tomorrow. We are not worried about not making it to tomorrow but we are living for today. We are learning that life today is better than thinking about life tomorrow. We are also learning that yesterday is pretty meaningless. We have yet to find a way to change yesterday.

Some people say tomorrow is a new day. We say, today is the greatest day.

Hello World

We are here.

Want to know what happened?

Here goes...

WILL:  So this morning around 6 AM I bet Reese he couldn't kick his membrane open.  I mean come on, it's World Cup time right?  We've been watching all the games and with the USA vs. Algeria match starting in a few minutes we thought we would get in some practice.

REESE:  I didn't want to take the bet.  I'm the oldest which makes me all the more wise and I knew what would happen.

WILL:  OH you're going to pull that card!  NOW?!?!?  You're like 1 minute older than me.  If that?!?!?  Give me a break...

REESE:  Like I said, I didn't want to take the bet but little Willy over there (cutoff)

WILL:  Oh no sir!  I'm NOT the 4 lbs 7 oz, 16.5 inch shrimp.  That's you Reese.  I'm BIG WILL coming in at a stellar 4 lbs 9 oz and a lean mean 18 inches.  For a "32 weeker" they think I'm quite the stallion.

REESE:  If I could get back to the story...I wasn't going to do it but he dared me.  We all know that the original "dare" does not elicit much of a response.

WILL:  Yeah.  So I skipped the dog dare and went right into, "I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU"!

REESE:  What are you going to do right?  It was a triple dog dare.  I had that thing busted in TWO KICKS!  It was waaaayyy faster than any of the USA soccer players today!  They needed extra time to beat...who were they playing?

WILL:  Next thing I know, Reese is going all Kelly Slater on me and riding the wave down to the birth canal.  I was yelling at him.  "Reese!  REESE!  Where did you go?!??"  Finally he said, "I'm down here."  But it sounded like he was in a cave with echoes and everything.  All I could see were his feet!

REESE:  I got stuck down there for a few hours and that's when I started causing mom some real pain.  I felt bad about it but once I was down there, I wanted OUT!  The contractions were waving and rolling, rolling and waving, waving and rolling!

WILL:  That's when I heard Reese yell, "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!"  It reminded me of Squints in the Sandlot.  You know when they're at the pool and Wendy Prefercorn is putting on suntan lotion and...

REESE:  Not all these people have seen The Sandlot.

WILL:  Well they should!  It's only the 4th best movie ever!  Right after Empire Stikes Back, Indiana Jones, The Bourne movies and Love Actually.  What?  I'm a lover...

REESE:  Well for one, that's more than 4 movies.

WILL:  Dude, I'm like 4 hours old.  Get off it.  Who cares if I can't count yet!  OOOHHHH Mama Judy and Pop just got here!  Back in a jiff!

Quick Update

So here's what's been going on with us the last few days.  Many of you may know but for those that don't, we will try to be as clear as possible.  It's been BANANAS!

After getting home from our Memorial Weekend road trip to the hospital, we settled back in at home for some nice bed rest until our delivery day.  On Wednesday we went to our Dr. and he looked at us kind of funny.  Remember in The Sandlot when Squints says, "FOOORRREEEEVVVEEERRRR", and it's real slow and deliberate.  Imagine that and this is what the Dr. said, "I AAAMMMM SSEENNNDDIINNNGGG YOOOUUUU BAAAAACCKKKKK".

The best part was when he said to go straight there and mom asked if she could go home to get some things and he said no.  Well, ok so the best part was in the car when mom told dad to go home.  It went like this.

Mom:  Please go home and let me get some stuff
Dad:  But the Dr, said...(CUTOFF)
Mom:  If I'm going to be there for a while, I want to go home and get my stuff
Dad:  Well, ok...."Boys, do as I say, not as i do"

And so we have been in the hospital ever since and probably will be for a while.

They put us on a GNARLY treatment called, "The Mag", otherwise known as Magnesium Sulphate.  It helps with mom's contractions (which she still is  not feeling).  It also helps us in case we are born to soon.  It made us feel very strange.  All the nurses described it differently, but probably the most easy to understand would be like having the flu, a hangover, and hot flashes all at the same time.  They had ice buckets next to mom to cool her off because it also made her feel hot and tingly. The craziest thing about it, she couldn't have hardly any water!!!  So, after 24 hours of feeling AWFUL, we got to come off the medicine and have been doing great ever since.  We even had our first visitor, Frauntie Katie!

Ok so this was not sooo quick but there is more to come.  OHHH and today is also MOVING DAY!  Since we are going to be here a while, we are going over to "Antipartem".  We are not sure what that means, but the room has a fridge and dad is bringing up some snacks and some milk!  Dad has been dying for some milk!  And maybe a dvd player or the WII...ok gotta run, we are literally moving RIGHT NOW!

Memorial Weekend ROAD TRIP!!!

Get this...

So mom and dad said, "Come on boys!  It's time for a road trip!"  We were thinking maybe the beach (since it's close and they were talking about pictures).  Oh or maybe our first Vegas trip!  But we may be a little young for that.  But you will never guess where we ended up...

It's close to the beach...BUT IT AIN'T the beach!  Our parents hoodwinked us!  We were ready for a great weekend of fun in the sun and ended up in the HOSPITAL.  Although now that we have had some time to reflect, we think this could have been our doing.

You see, we are VERY ANXIOUS to come meet everyone out there.  We can't wait for all this world has to offer!  The problem is, you are just not ready for us yet...bummer.  The good news is that the folks at Hoag Hospital took great care of us and our mom.  They even hooked our dad up with a couple of free meals (we get one extra per day but don't tell him that).  They just wanted to check mom out because she was doing something called "contracting".  We're not sure what that is but it sure makes for a fun time in the womb!  They also checked us out and said we were in fine form (tell us something we don't know!).

We were admitted on Thursday and got to go home Friday night.  They gave mom some medicine and said they hoped to not see us for a while...........

FAMOUS LAST WORDS....because the sequel to this post is already in the works.  (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT)  We sure are getting to know the people at Hoag very well...GULP!

Listen to Our Hearts...

Reese's Heartbeat

Will's Heartbeat

NO not the Roxette song!  It's US!  You can hear our hearts beating...so turn up the volume and rock to our hearts!

We just got back from the doc and we're doing great!  We are in the 50th percentile for babies which is great for twins.  We both weigh two pounds and everything else is the same too!  We continue to be identical in every way which has our parents a little worried about all the mischief we might get into.  Think Parent Trap meets The Goonies and that's what our parents think might happen.

We're going to be the "most amazing thing you ever saw"!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Wow...we have quite a few people checking in on us!  More than a few of you have "encouraged" us to keep everyone more up to date on our progress.

It's been a whirlwind the last few weeks.  We rode on a jet plane!  It was our second time but the first time we don't really remember.  We were so young back then!  We went to Texas for a shower, but it didn't rain.  We were a bit confused but then people started coming in with all kinds of great stuff for us and we forgot about the rain and got lost in a sea on blessings from our family and friends.  People must really like us...

Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

We have been to the Dr. several times in the last month.  It's a critical time for us but we keep showing strong!

Today we are 23 weeks old (BC - before Caesarean) and last week we had "big" ultrasound.  They measured both of us six ways to Sunday!  Funny thing is, we are exactly the same!  Just one exception:

Will = 1 pound
Reese = 1 pound 1 ounce

Or it may be reversed.  Actually we're not sure which is which.  Oh no...do you think this will happen again?

OH Ooooo Oh OH...we have to go.  Rocky is about to fight Drago!
